Why This Guide Exists
Michigan makes many arrest and booking records available, but the records are spread across separate systems. The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office creates county booking records and operates the current inmate locator. Lansing and East Lansing publish their own arrest reports. Courts hold the later case record, while the Michigan Department of Corrections provides offender information for people sentenced to state custody. The county FOIA process covers records that are not presented through a public lookup. This site organizes those official paths and explains what each one can and cannot show. It stores no official records or booking photographs.
What Readers Can Find
The guides separate current custody from older arrest reporting and later court outcomes. Readers can use them to:
- Follow the full recent-arrest, jail-roster, warrant, record-request, and Michigan removal-law guide.
- Check the same-day window on Arrested Today or compare multi-day sources through Arrest Reports.
- Learn how to use the sheriff’s inmate locator, city police reports, Michigan Department of Corrections search, and VINE custody alerts.
- Prepare a focused FOIA request for a booking record or photo when no public page supplies it.
Limits of This Site
This is a privately operated reference site. It has no connection to a Michigan government agency, sheriff’s office, jail, court, or corrections department.
- We cannot release, hold, or transfer a person in custody.
- We cannot post bond, arrange a visit, or send funds for anyone.
- We do not provide legal advice.
- We cannot promise that an address, fee, phone number, or custody detail remains current.
Only the responsible sheriff, court, or corrections agency can confirm current custody, charges, or release. An arrest is an accusation, not proof of guilt, and every person is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Third-Party Search Partners
Some pages may contain search tools run by outside providers. Those providers set their own prices and control their results. If a visitor follows a tool and purchases a subscription or report, this site may receive a referral fee. That support helps keep the public guides free, but it does not give us control over a partner’s data, pricing, or service.
